Outline
This learning support facility introduces the concept of a "learning commons" that adds new support services to the functions of a conventional library. It was constructed as the new library of Kanda University of International Studies, which has been in operation for 20 years. In addition to the library, there is a "MULC," a pseudo-study abroad space created using local craftsmen, materials, and construction methods, a café, a hall, and a seminar room for experiential learning of multiple languages. The curved roof extends from the adjacent rugby court like a hill, and the rooftop greening provides heat insulation and continuity of green activities in the campus.
