YOKOHAMA GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE, YOSHIHIKO IIDA STUDIO+SALHAUS
Outline
A steel-framed studio built under the elevated railway line of the Keihin Kyuko Line, consisting of three separate buildings. The space between the buildings is an alley connecting the two sides of the elevated railway. The studios, made of lightweight steel and glass with a ceiling height of 3200mm, display the inside of the building like a showcase to the city. A rooftop walkway with a wooden deck encroaches on the volume of the studio.
