This is the research facility of Astellas Pharma Inc. which was established through the merger of Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co. The three existing research buildings of the former Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Research Laboratories were retained, and three new research buildings (designed by Taisei Corporation) and an office and welfare building (designed by Takenaka Corporation) were reconstructed. The three newly constructed research buildings and the existing research building are connected to the residence building. The residence building functions as an office space for researchers, and researchers can communicate with researchers in other fields by coming and going between the research building and the residence building as they conduct their research.
