Outline
This one-story house is built on a site facing an agricultural waterway on the north-south side. a garden is created on the north, east, west, south, and west sides, and a hipped-roof volume meanders between the garden and the garden. the courtyard, which is raised from the ground and brought into the opening, is covered with cedar moss and dotted with boulders and trees with strong and weak trunks, giving a three-dimensional depth to the garden. inside, the low eaves height leads the eye into the garden, and the rafters straddling the interior and exterior blur the boundary between them.
