The site is located in a historical district lined with samurai residences, and the plan is to renovate a japanese house that had been operated as a guesthouse. a storage room and a tea ceremony room were added, and a new house gate was built to serve as an office to carry on the townscape. the basic structure of the gate is a segai-zukuri with a traditional japanese structural form, the migatogi (jaw).
