Outline
This is the designer's own residence, where he renovated a more than 100-year-old row house that had been abandoned for many years in a residential area in the suburbs of downtown Kyoto, using his own construction techniques while retaining the existing wood and mud walls. In addition to being an architectural office, the house also serves as a workplace for furniture design and production. A new wooden structure was introduced to penetrate the existing row house.
