REI MITSUI ARCHITECTS
Outline
This is a home for two people with a huge collection of books. The roof over the atrium is curved so that the eye can see out and not be distracted by the books. The structure is made of one-inch thick laminated cedar lumber that is curved on site and integrated with three layers of screws. It is a three-dimensional curved surface with a hint of curvature not only in the longitudinal direction but also in the short direction.
