Outline
The building is located on a steep slope, on the ridge of a mountain. The south side of the building has deep eaves to create a sense of place, and large openings to bring the landscape into the interior. The space between the two structural walls that run east-west through the center of the building is an atrium, which is used as a gallery and lounge. The exposed pillars and the canes that support the roof are intentionally made thick in order to harmonize with the surrounding trees.
