Outline
Of the two volumes lined with 150mm square exposed columns designed by Umejiro, the white exterior wall in the back is the "Interval House" and the front is the "Carrying House" (Shinkenchiku, 1508), which I designed previously. The shape of the plan, the height of the floors, the diameter of the pillars, and some of the exterior walls are aligned to give a rhythm to the townscape. A garden is created to succeed the alley and plantings of the adjacent "Omori Lodge" ("Shinkenchiku" 1103), and an alley in the air is developed by cutting off the building volume and installing greenery on the upper floor.
