The house stands on a long north-south site overlooking Hofu Tenmangu Shrine to the north. The gate on the south side of the house is opened during festivals and serves as an entrance to invite portable shrines and local residents. The greenery of the garden extends from under the southern wall to the town, and the north side has an undulating garden with a view of Hofu Tenmangu Shrine.
