The site is located at the northern end of the Kanto Plain, where the climate varies greatly between summer and winter. The walls and ceiling are retractable and can be adjusted by the inhabitants according to the season and time of day. The wall panels can be opened to create a north-south ventilation and a deep eaves verge space. The shed acts as a buffer zone to regulate the heat and light environment, and the ceiling panels, which are crimped with insulation, are opened and closed to adjust the interior environment.
