Outline
An 80-year-old townhouse on the outskirts of Kyoto's old Hanamachi district, where an air-raid shelter was left behind, has been renovated into a short-term residence. The remains of the air-raid shelter were lowered 1,660mm from the floor of the first floor and planted to provide a place to hide away from the living room for the next generation.
