Garden Alley House

Outline
The house stands on a site 4.5m wide and 30m deep, just northeast of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. There is a gallery in the front of the first floor. The house faces Teramachi-dori, a street lined with old machiya houses, shops, and one-room apartments, and the greenery of the Imperial Palace can be seen in the background. The deep alleyway serves as an intermediary, making it possible to adjust the distance between the town and the house.
