Outline
This hut was built using the itakura construction method on a hill facing Shizugawa Bay, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. It was built by the Minamisanriku Ki no Ie Zukuri Mutual Aid Association, which aims to build houses using local lumber and craftsmen. As the reconstruction of the surrounding area progresses, it is being used as a meeting place for local residents.
