The site is located in a corner of a flat grid-like streetscape. There is a large supermarket across the street and the owner's parents' house (existing) on the east side of the site. Small gardens are scattered throughout the site, and the volume of the building is shaped like a shadow that falls at a certain time in order to allow light to fall there.
