Shogo Iwata Architects
Outline
This house is based on the Yamatomune style, which is unique to the Nara region and consists of a large roof and a lower roof. In the structure, the climbing beams of the upper roof are joined at the top with laminated wood, and the supporting beams and pillars are omitted to create a large space different from the conventional Yamatomune. In addition, the space formed by the lower roof and the difference in height between the two roofs are utilized to create a variety of places to live.
