This wooden house is located in the Harukakedai district of Tsukuba City, and is designed to realize the full-fledged rural lifestyle proposed by the district. The houses are set back 12 meters from the road to create a landscaped green space, and each house has its own vegetable garden in the back. The open windows serve as environmental control devices to let in sunlight in the winter and promote ventilation in the summer.
