Outline
This 100-year-old machiya was renovated as a second house for the owner couple living in Tokyo. The existing plan, which had poor lighting conditions due to its narrow frontage and deep depth, was reconfigured on the first floor by changing the location of the water closet, and on the second floor, two rooms on the south side were made into one room, and lighting was secured by creating a lighting route to a small window in the attic for a room with no lighting.
