KAZUHIKO NAMBA +KAI WORKSHOP
Outline
The house was completed in 1997. It is a two-story house made of conventional wooden construction. At the time of completion, it was a two-family house (four people living) with the parent family on the first floor and the child family on the second floor. In the 16 years since the house was built, changes were made mainly to equipment that had failed over time. In the background of living in the house without any changes, there are some ideas for sustaining the house, such as maintenance-free interior and exterior materials, flexible one-room space configuration, and ventilation plan.
