A hut and house to live together

Nobuyasu Hattori
Outline
The building stands on a hill gently rising from the seafront. The gable-shaped building is positioned to the northeast of the site and is gently connected to its surroundings through the garden on the southwest side. The interior is almost a one-room space, and the trusses are built at a higher level than the usual western-style hut framework by transmitting the load from the ridge beams directly through the 450mm diameter log beams in the longitudinal direction.
