Outline
The house stands on a 6m wide and 30m deep site in the precincts of Todaiji Temple. Wooden rooms are interspersed within a large roof frame constructed of steel frames. The pavilions in the wooden rooms and balconies were made and exhibited as part of an artist-in-residence program at two facilities in Aomori and Sendai, then dismantled and transported to the Nara site, where they were reassembled under the steel frame.
