Outline
The building is designed to be integrated with the existing brick retaining wall. The plan is almost square in plan with three functional cores inserted to gently divide the space, and terraces cut into the north and south sides to let in light and gently connect the interior and exterior. The entire building is covered by a large gabled roof with a diagonal ridge and rafters almost orthogonal to the ridge. By changing the height of the four corners of the building, a variety of places are created in the height direction.
