The house is located in a rural area in the northern part of Nara Prefecture, on a long and narrow site measuring more than 50 meters from north to south. In order to make farming and living in the house as smooth as possible, the site has an external earthen floor through which a light car can pass, and each room can be accessed from the earthen floor.
