Renovations based on "wooden building pathology" aimed at accurately assessing the current state of existing houses and carrying out appropriate renovations. The focus is on deterioration diagnosis, seismic diagnosis, maintenance management diagnosis, thermal environment diagnosis, barrier-free diagnosis, and fireproofing diagnosis. Based on the results of these investigations, concrete was poured on the 120-year-old foundation, which had been made of cobblestones, and structural walls and new beams were installed and filled with heat insulating material to improve the earthquake resistance and thermal environment while preserving the good materials.
