Outline
Since the building is located in a commercial area, the challenge was how to create a calm living environment while maintaining privacy. Seven layers of steel screens were placed against the concrete frame to control the line of sight between inside and outside. The outside of the screen is treated with phosphoric acid to reduce the reflection of light, while the inside is galvanized to diffuse the light. The concrete frame of the building is shifted from layer to layer to provide eaves in consideration of ash fall, etc., and the space between the floors created by the skip floor structure encourages the residents to move freely.
