Masahiro Harada+MAO / MOUNT FUJI ARCHITECTS STUDIO
Outline
The site is located in the middle of a satoyama, on a slope with a slight flat area. In order to make the best use of the view to Sagami Bay to the south, the mountains behind to block the north wind, and the large trees around, two sets of LVL portal frames of about 12m in length are combined to create a space. The two sets of frames are arranged at an angle to form a frame structure with trusses in the middle span, enabling a thickness of only 38mm to be achieved.
