HIDEKI IWAHORI ARCHITEKCTURAL DESIGN OFFICE
Outline
Huge beams with a beam length of 900 mm are placed in the longitudinal direction of the building at a pitch of 90 cm, creating a space of about 8 m without columns. Walls, furniture, and fittings are installed under the beams, so all the spaces are connected in the beam-span. For the floor, the sides and bottom of the foundation are insulated and used as a heat storage layer, and hot water pipes are stretched and finished with mortar. The floor is insulated on the sides and bottom of the foundation, and is finished with mortar and hot-water pipes. While ensuring a thermal environment, the building has openings on two sides, north and south, creating an open tubular space.
