Outline
In response to the client's desire for a residence that makes the most of its privileged location and allows the occupant to live with the landscape, we have proposed an interior that surrounds an exterior space open to the western mountain range and is gently connected to it by the difference in elevation while remaining hidden from view. By creating an appropriate sense of distance from the surroundings, the external landscape is abstracted and a place that is at one with the landscape is created. To cope with the harsh winter climate, the use of insulated sliding doors and Low-E glass in the openings makes it possible to create large openings with high thermal insulation performance.
