IIZUKA ATELIER
Outline
"In response to the client's request for a house where he and his dog and cat can live comfortably without air conditioning even in the summer, we focused on planning the ventilation of the building and the shielding of solar radiation. For ventilation, we studied the air flow throughout the building and determined the shape of the building. The building shape was determined based on a study of the air flow throughout the building, and natural ventilation is provided by automatic openings in the foundation. For shading in summer, fiber grating screens are installed on the light-collecting surfaces. The height of the ceiling and the frontage of the building are variable, in order to create various scenes in the interior space of the small house.
