Outline
Using approximately 1,000 pieces of 2×4 lumber, this house is an extension and renovation of an existing house with seismic reinforcement. The louvered lattice, which is tilted from front to back, left to right, creates an undulating surface, and multiple semi-exterior spaces that serve as tsuboniwa (a small garden) are created. The existing building was illegal, but we were able to legalize it in the end.
