AKIO YACHIDA/WORKSHOP
Outline
It is an apartment-type private house with a stack of independent dwellings. The second son + grandmother live on the first floor, the first son on the second floor, and the mother on the third floor. They share a cylinder-shaped stairwell, and the dwelling consists of one and a half levels of continuous space around it. The south side of the building is all open to allow light and heat to enter, and the exterior insulation, double glazing, and blinds allow nature to enter the interior environment, while the concrete is used as a heat storage material to achieve a balance between day and night.
