Sambuichi Architects
Outline
One basement floor. The structure consists of two floors of reinforced concrete living space with atriums on the north and south sides. The atrium on the south side is a sunroom-like space that actively lets in the sun's rays, while the atrium on the north side functions as a garage and creates a space under the trees. In the interview with Mr. Sambuichi, "Creating Details of the Earth," he looks back on his past works and talks about the architectural language and the design philosophy behind them, such as the masonry exterior walls and the reuse of concrete formwork.
