The site is a house with a potter's studio, built on a slope overlooking the Hanshin area. A trapezoidal plan of 8 x 9m was derived from the severe legal constraint, which was transformed into a square at the top, and the ridge line, which is the trace of the trapezoidal plan, forms the west facade. The first floor and ground floor are relatively public spaces, and the second and third floors are private living spaces. The first floor and ground floor are relatively public spaces, while the second and third floors are private living spaces. Furthermore, by creating internal and external voids that vertically penetrate the four horizontally stacked layers, the functionally divided layers become connected, and an overall sense of fluidity is created.
