Katsufumi Kubota / Kubota Architect Atelier
Outline
The entire building is built on a slope that descends immediately at an angle of about 30° from the street level, without any flat areas. The top level is opened up to the maximum to create only a water garden and terrace, while the bottom level is narrowed down to only bedrooms and sanitary areas, with the spaces where people will spend the most time in between. By moving back and forth between these spaces through the stairs along the slope of the site, we are able to maintain the privacy necessary for daily life while at the same time being aware of the changes in nature that reflect the building.
