- Karuizawa Common Grounds" is a complex facility that opened in Karuizawa. The core of the facility, Karuizawa Bookstore Nakakaruizawa (bookstore building), was originally a summer school facility for a junior college. The plan is to place a large, skirt-like wooden roof over the existing wooden building. In addition to the bookstore, 10 other buildings, including restaurants and a preschool, are scattered throughout the site.
