FORMER YAMAGUCHI MANKICHI HOUSE

Outline
This is a renovation of the private residence of Yamaguchi Mankichi (a businessman from Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture), which was completed in 1927, into a members-only share office. The original design was created by Tannaka Naito for the structure, Shichiro Kiko, a classmate of Naito's at Tokyo Imperial University, for the design, and Kanetsugu Imai and Megumi Kajita for the furniture design. In addition to enhancing the value of the building as a cultural asset by restoring the exterior and interior spaces, functionality and comfort as an office space have been added while retaining the original atmosphere.
