CONTAINER TEMPORARY HOUSING IN ONAGAWA, "

Outline
A three-story (partly two-story) temporary housing complex was constructed in a baseball field in Onagawa, Miyagi Prefecture, using shipping containers. Mr. Shigeru Ban proposed the multi-story temporary housing because there was not enough flat land to secure the required number of temporary housing units. By stacking containers in a checkerboard pattern, an open LDK is created. There is a market between the buildings.
