MODE GAKUEN COCOON TOWER

Outline
The building of Mode Gakuen, built at the west exit of Shinjuku Station, houses three vocational schools and is attended by approximately 10,000 students. The structure consists of three diagonal frames around the perimeter and an inner core. The cocoon-like pattern on the exterior is made of special film with a diagonal grid of ribbed spandrels and dot patterns. Across the street is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (9105, designed by Kenzo Tange and the Urban and Architectural Design Institute).
