- The site is located in a residential area facing a busy street, but there are many vacant lots and houses in the surrounding area. the rooms are all located on the north side of the site, and the remaining south side is an open courtyard surrounded by vacant houses on three sides. a shed, whose shape responds to the surrounding environment, is placed around the perimeter of the courtyard to create a variety of places that expand the living space.
