Holes in the House

Outline
This is the architect's own residence, where he lives while renovating a four-story steel-framed house built during the bubble period. Light and wind pass from the first floor to the fourth floor through a hole in one span adjacent to the staircase, conveying a sense of presence. The staircase and the hole are interlocked, and the view changes dynamically as it moves up and down.
