This project involved the reconstruction of the old Hakata Post Office, which was located adjacent to the JR Hakata Station. The building was rebuilt as a commercial facility with the approval of a jointly supported building with the existing station building, which enabled the relaxation of the diagonal restriction of the adjacent land and the range of the area where the fire might spread. The southwest district of Hakata Station was designated as an integrated district development planning area, and a policy for urban development based on the station was established.
