Outline
The library is a complex facility located in the center of Gifu City, with stacks, an exhibition gallery, a multipurpose hall, and a citizen's activity exchange center on the first floor, and an open reading area on the second floor. The wavy wooden roof covers a square plane of approximately 80m x 90m. In the one-room space with a ceiling height of approximately 6 m, polyester fabric "globes" with diameters of 8 to 14 m are hung from the ceiling to create areas such as reading corners and reception counters.
