TEZUKA ARCHITECTS
Outline
This is the first specialized treatment facility in Japan that takes into consideration the lives of children undergoing treatment for childhood cancer and their families. It consists of a pediatric clinic and a 19-unit apartment building. In a home-like environment, pediatric cancer patients can receive treatment with peace of mind while living with their families. All the houses have their own entrance, and each unit can be accessed from the outside. The steel-framed, one-story building was constructed using Sekisui House's beta-system construction method.
