A high-rise complex with 39 floors above ground and three floors below ground and a height of approximately 200 meters will be built on the site of the Shin Asahi Building, which formerly housed the Festival Hall. A high-rise office building of the same scale is scheduled for completion in 2018 in the west district where the Osaka Asahi Shimbun Building stands. The floor-area ratio has been eased to 1,600% by the designation of a special urban regeneration district. The new building of the Asahi Shimbun is located on the 9th to 12th floors directly above the Hall, and tenant offices are located on the upper floors from the 15th to 36th floors across from the Sky Lobby on the 13th floor.
