NIHON SEKKEI
Outline
This five-story building is a training facility for Bridgestone Corporation. The volume is irregular in shape due to restrictions on shading and sky coverage. The plan consists of shaped conference rooms on the south side, surrounded by refreshing spaces, such as stairways and hangout spaces, that provide an open circulation. The conference room is made of reinforced concrete (partially steel-framed reinforced concrete) with structural walls to bear seismic forces, while the refreshment space is made of steel.
