Itakura House Ushiku
Satoyama Architecture Laboratory
- Outline
- We reconstructed a traditional Japanese house that had been lived in for generations in an old farming village by reusing the beams of a 3-kan x 8-kan pine tree, keeping the layout and scale almost unchanged. The plan consists of a Doma (dining room, kitchen), an Ita-no-ma (living room, children's study room, bedroom), and a tatami room.
