YABUKI PUBLIC CENTER

Outline
This project involved the relocation and reconstruction of the Yabuki-cho First Ward Community Center in response to a disaster. The building was required to serve as a base for self-governing activities of the residents of the first ward, as well as an evacuation site in the event of a disaster and a storehouse for storing floats used in the town festival. Ten rectangular plans with square roofs are grouped together, and an earthen floor in the center allows passage through, creating a place open to the town.
