SHIRASAGI MUSEUM

Outline
A private passageway connects the dead-end road on the north side of the site (Article 42, Section 2 of the Act) with the prefectural road on the south side, and a tunnel-like museum straddles the passageway. The museum was established as a "detached house" within the grounds of a private residence. The public facility road and the museum, which exhibits artworks related to the local community, connect the different scales of a small individual's life with the large frontage that corresponds to the public nature of the community.
