Domain House
Izumi Kozasa+Naoko Okumura / IN STUDIO
- Outline
- Two houses and a workshop on a plot of land that has been lived in by the family for generations were reconstructed into a single house. the fill, which creates a distance between the house and its surroundings, and the outer earthen floor, which floats above the ground, divide the site from the outside to the inside of the house. the house is not confined by the boundaries drawn by modern and contemporary institutions, nor is it open to the public in a reactionary manner, but rather, it finds a place for living in a realm created subjectively.
