Tree terrace on uninhabited island
Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP
- Outline
- A tree terrace, food storage, toilet and shower booth on an uninhabited island in the Seto Inland Sea. The tree terrace was built to be attached to the existing trees. The foundation is made of precast concrete and the pillars are wooden telegraph poles, all of which were built by hand. The driftwood is used for the exterior walls, creating a low-cost and minimal labor space in an uninhabited island location.
